BPK delegates led by Chairman Dr. Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara, CPA, CA., suggested there should be an agreement between Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) and Audited Entities in the form of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Data Access for audit purpose in facing the era of Digitalization and Open Data. The MoU is one of the solutions for data accessibility difficulties faced by the SAIs in the whole world in managing digital data and information provided by the audited entities.

This opinion was stated within the 24th UN/INTOSAI Symposium in Vienna, Austria from May 31st to June 2nd 2017. The symposium titled Digitalization, Open Data and Data Mining: Relevance and Implication for SAI's Audit Work and for Enhancing Their Contributions to the Follow-Up and Review of the SDGs was attended by 150 participants from SAIs and UN representatives.

In this forum, BPK delegates shared its experience in developing E-audit which has been started in 2015. BPK already has approximately 756 MoUs of Data Access with Audited Entities including ministries, local governments and state owned enterprises. The process was gone through in several phases from developing data access synergy and online data communication with audited entities along with the improvement of BPK Internal Data Center.

Also within that symposium, the participants were committed that data access and online data communication problems became the basic issues to prepare SAIs in preparing the era of digitalization and open data.
