​Audit Office of the New South Wales

Background

The agreement between BPK and Audit Office of New South Wales (AO NSW) is an extension of cooperation between BPK and ANAO. Assessment of cooperation between BPK and AO NSW was started on a series of visits in the conference Chairman of BPK to the Australasian Council of Public Accounts Committee (ACPAC) and ACAG forum on 11 and 12 April 2013 in Sydney, Australia. This conference has provided an opportunity for members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and the Auditor Generals in the Australia as well as in Asia and Pacific to exchange ideas in terms of supervision and audit of financial management. In this regard, AO NSW is the only government agency that awarded the Australian Reporting Award for 3 consecutive years in Australia so that BPK was interested to gain relationship with AO NSW.

The cooperation agreement between BPK and AO NSW signed on April 10, 2013 at the conference of Australasian Council of Public Accounts Committee (ACPAC) and ACAG in Sydney, Australia. Cooperation BPK and AO NSW can not be separated from the cooperation BPK RI - ANAO that has existed beforehand. Cooperation BPK and AO NSW also bind ANAO and AO NSW with an MoU and included in the GPF program.

Objectives

  1. Extensification relationships with other SAIs in supporting capacity building in accordance to Strategic Inisiative of BPK;
  2. Assist in the implementation of exchange of experience on reporting;
  3. Enhance the capability and capacity of BPK auditors in conducting financial audit based on accrual accounting at managerial and technical levels.
  4. Exchange of experience on the readiness of AO NSW in the implementation of contract management audit of the financial statements to the public accounting firms.
