Background

Cooperation between BPK and JAN Malaysia started based on geographical similarities in Southeast Asia, which particularly both of the two countries have quite extensive forestry region. Forestry and forest areas between the two countries is an asset that must be protected from damage. Based on the similarity of BPK feel there should be cooperation between BPK with the JAN Malaysia.
In the process, the area of cooperation was expanded not only in the field of forestry audit, but also include cooperation in the field of the environmental audit, tax and customs audit, as well as cooperation in the fields of training and research.
Relation between BPK and JAN Malaysia began with the implementation of the first Technical Meeting in Indonesia during the 60th Anniversary of BPK in January 2007. This relationship continues to be a cooperative relationship with the implementation of the second technical meeting pre MoU in Malaysia on 16 August 2007 with the conclusion of the implementation area cooperation is in the field of forest management with parallel audit methods. Then the cooperation between the two countries ratified by the signing of the Treaty (Signing MoU) on 4 November 2007 when INCOSAI Meeting in Mexico.

Objectives

To strengthen, improve and develop the cooperation framework and the efficiency of the interrelationships between BPK and JAN Malaysia in the field of public sector auditing on the basis of similarity and benefit of both SAIs.

 Area of Cooperation

  1. Distribution and sharing of information through consultation, seminars, and conferences in the field of the main problems related to the control of public finances;
  2. Sharing information and expertise in the field of audit policies and technologies through training and visits on both sides;
  3. Conducting parallel audits in the field of forest management and hajj management.
