Background
One of BPK's mandates according to law is to conduct the audit on central bank. Therefore, BPK has an important and strategic role in auditing Central Bank of Indonesia.
BPK has identified the need to strengthen their capacity in order to meet central bank audit mandate.
On several occasions, BPK filed a request for support to the Swedish National Audit Office (SNAO) regarding this audit field. In 2005, BPK put forward a proposal to SNAO related to bilateral cooperation between BPK and SNAO, particularly in the fields of central bank audit.
SNAO responded to the proposal by sending a draft of cooperation proposal in the field audit on central bank in October 2006.
Furthermore, SNAO sent a team to visit BPK in order to conduct a scoping mission cooperation in April 2007. The team of four people is aimed to gain an understanding of the workings of BPK and SNAO, to identify the needs of BPK in the field of capacity building of the central bank audit as well as to gain an understanding of the circumstances to start working together and discuss how SNAO could help to improve audit capacity in BPK.

Objectives
Improve the capacity of BPK in carrying out the mandate to audit the central bank
Area of Cooperation
- Workshops in the field of Risk Assessment, Internal Control Analysis and Planning of Audit;
- Technical assistance in the preparation of the audit program at Central Bank of Indonesia;
- Mentoring and discussion on audit procedures and audit findings;
- Technical assistance in the preparation of the audit report on Central Bank of Indonesia that includes preparation of findings, recommendations and conclusions;
Seminars in the field of Money Circulation, Foreign Exchange Reserves Management, Banking Supervision, Payment Systems and Preparation of Financial Statements.
