The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) as the Chairman and the Secretariat of the INTOSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing (WGEA) governed the Steering Committee meeting in Cairo, Egypt, from September 28 to October 1, 2015. The meeting attended by 36 delegates from 15 member Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of the Steering Committee aimed at reporting and endorsing the draft of the WGEA final project for the workplan period of 2014-2016, while discussing issues to be adopted into the WGEA workplan for the period of 2017-2019. During the meeting, the BPK delegates were led by the BPK Chairman, Harry Azhar Azis, who were accompanied with the INTOSAI WGEA Secretariat namely Edward Simanjuntak, Ami Rahmawati dan Dominika D Rosana. Other delegates were Dian Primartanto dan Tjokorda Gde Budi Kusuma.

The meeting was officially opened by Counsellor Hesham Genena, the President of the Accountability State Authority (ASA), which was continued with the opening remark of the BPK Chairman, Harry Azhar Azis, who also acted as the INTOSAI WGEA Chairman. The three-day meeting endorsed 6 final drafts of the research projects, a final draft of the update of the Audit Guidance on waste management and 4 final drafts of 4 ISSAI reviews on the environmental auditing. Besides, the meeting also proposed 10 actual environmental issues to be adopted in the WGEA workplan of 2017-2019 to be discussed in the Assembly meeting in 2017.

In the mean time, the BPK Chairman conducted a bilateral meeting with Counsellor Hesham Genena on September 28, 2015 at the ASA Office, as well as with Petr Neuvrit, the Member of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) of the Czech Republic. Both SAIs committed to support the BPK and actively contribute to the WGEA projects
