The 50th ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting and International Symposium on National Integrity System

Harry Azhar Azis, Chairman Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia was attending the 50th ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 15 – 16 February 2016. During the meeting, he was presenting the announcement the date and venue for the 51st Governing Board Meeting in Bali, 13 – 14 February 2017. 


The meeting resulted the approval on the reports on regular agendas namely the ASOSAI financial statement for FY 2015, formulation of the multi-year budget plan for 2017-2019, capacity development activities, and the publication of the ASOSAI Journal.


During the ASOSAI GBM, Office of the Auditor General of Thailand also celebrates its 100th anniversary of establishment, with various activities including an international symposium. The main theme of international symposium is the importance of building National Integrity Systems (NIS). NIS is the concept which is consisted of several factors as pillars to strengthen national integrity. Especially, Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) is one of main pillars as the core agency which responsible for auditing government income and expenditure.


The audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia also contributes in the International Symposium by presenting a country paper on the Strategic Role of BPK in Combating Corruption.
