BPK’s Chairman as the Speaker in the ASEAN Civil Service Innovation Conference 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia​​

 

The Chairman of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Harry Azhar Azis, was presence as one of panel speakers of the ASEAN Civil Service Innovation Conference 2015 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 18, 2015. He delivered a presentation in the Good Regulatory Practice (GRP) session together with other speakers namely Akira Nakamura from the Meiji University, Japan; Dato’ Mohd Razali Hussain, the Director General of Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC); and Nick Malyshev, the Head of Regulatory Policy Division, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Many academicians from varied ASEAN countries were also presence in the conference.

The conference themed Towards a People-Centred Civil Service in ASEAN was held as an event for knowledge sharing and discussion on establishing qualified human resources especially for civil servants. In this occasion, the BPK’s Chairman presented the roles of the BPK in promoting the bureaucratic reform in Indonesia, entitled BPK’s Roles to Enhance Government Agencies’ Compliance to Regulation through Bureaucratic Reform. It was continued with the discussion involving all panelists and participants.

After the conference session ended, the Chairman conducted an exclusive interview with the anchor of Astro TV3 Malaysia, Kamarul Bahrin Haron, discussing the bureaucratic reform practiced in Indonesia, the state governance, and national and regional actual issues happening in both countries as well as in the southeast asia region.​
